Dentures, a Short Drive South from Novato

If you live in Novato and you are missing teeth, getting fitted for dentures is a straight drive south on Highway 101 to our office at 1099 D Street in downtown San Rafael. The freeway carries you almost the whole way, so the largest city in northern Marin reaches us without winding through side streets. Dr. Steve Truman builds both full and partial dentures himself, and a typical denture takes only a handful of visits, which keeps the trips down from northern Marin few and predictable.

Losing teeth changes more than your smile. It changes how you eat, how you speak, and how you feel sitting across the table from people. Dentures are a long-proven, non-surgical way to replace missing teeth and bring that function back. The materials we use today look far more natural and sit far more comfortably than the dentures many people picture from years ago.

Who Dentures Are Right For

What to Expect

  1. Consultation & impressions We look at your mouth, talk through full versus partial versus implant-retained, and take precise impressions so the fit starts right.
  2. Custom fabrication Your denture is built to your bite and tooth shade, so it looks like you and feels settled rather than borrowed.
  3. Fitting & adjustments We place the denture and fine-tune it over follow-up visits until it feels like part of your day, not a thing you are aware of.
  4. Ongoing care Your mouth changes over time, so we check the fit at later visits and adjust to keep things comfortable for the long haul.

Why D Street Dental Group

Dr. Steve Truman

Restorative Dentist · Owner

Dr. Steve earned his DDS from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry and served as a clinical instructor. Restorative work is the heart of his practice. He plans and fits every denture himself, carries your history forward visit after visit, and explains each step plainly so you always know what comes next.

Serving Novato

Novato is the largest city in northern Marin, sitting up 101 above San Rafael. Reaching us is simply a matter of pointing the car south on the freeway to 1099 D Street, Suite 206, on the second floor. Whether you are coming from Old Town Novato along Grant Avenue, the family streets off Novato Boulevard, or the stores around Vintage Oaks, the 101 carries you most of the way, so there is little to navigate once you are on it.

Keeping denture care in one practice is what makes the short trip south worth it. Dr. Steve handles your fitting and every adjustment himself, so you are not handed off between offices closer to home. And because everything lives at one address, a Novato household can pair a denture fitting with a parent's cleaning or a grandparent's crown on the same visit. For parking, you will find street parking along D Street and the nearby blocks, plus several public lots a short walk away in downtown San Rafael.

Cost & Membership

Denture cost depends on full versus partial, the materials chosen, and any extractions or preparatory work, so we give you a clear, itemized estimate before anything begins. No surprises.

We are out of network for all dental insurance, though out-of-network PPO plans often cover a good portion of covered services, and we file your claim for you. Without coverage, our in-house "D is for Dental" membership takes 20% off treatment, with flexible in-office payment plans. See membership plans →

Denture Questions from Novato

How far is denture care from Novato?

From Novato it is a straight drive south on Highway 101 to our office at 1099 D Street in downtown San Rafael, where Dr. Steve fits both full and partial dentures. Whether you are near Old Town Novato on Grant Avenue or out by the Vintage Oaks shopping center, the freeway carries you the whole way, and most denture timelines need only a handful of visits.

What is the difference between full and partial dentures?

A full denture replaces all the teeth in an arch when no natural teeth remain. A partial denture fills one or more gaps while clasping to your remaining healthy teeth. Dr. Steve recommends the right option based on how many teeth you are missing and the health of the teeth that remain.

Can dentures be supported by implants?

Yes. Implant-retained dentures snap onto a few dental implants for a more stable, secure fit that will not slip when you eat or speak. It is a good upgrade if you are tired of adhesive or a loose lower denture, and Dr. Steve can plan both the implants and the denture under one roof so a Novato household handles it in one place.

Do you take my insurance if I live in Novato?

We are out of network with the dental PPOs, but we still file your claim so your benefits apply, and out-of-network plans often cover a good portion of covered services. If you do not carry insurance, our in-house D is for Dental membership takes 20% off restorative & major work. We give an itemized estimate before any denture work begins.
