Dentures, a Short Drive Up 101
If you live in or around Greenbrae and are weighing dentures, D Street Dental Group is a quick hop north on Highway 101 to 1099 D Street in downtown San Rafael. You do not have to leave Marin or sit in a high-volume chain to get a denture that actually fits.
Losing teeth changes more than your smile. It changes how you chew, how you speak, and how comfortable you feel in a conversation. Dentures are a long-proven, non-surgical way to bring that back, and today's materials look and feel a world away from the dentures many people remember from a parent or grandparent.
Here, a denture is made to your mouth rather than pulled off a shelf. Dr. Steve builds each one to your own bite, dials in the fit over follow-up visits, and aims for a result that reads as your teeth, not as dental work.
Who Dentures Are Right For
- Missing several teeth (a partial denture) or every tooth in an arch (a full denture)
- Wanting a non-surgical way to replace teeth and chew comfortably again
- Living with an old, loose, or worn denture that no longer holds its fit
- Curious whether a few implants could anchor a steadier denture that does not slip
What to Expect
- Consultation & impressions We look at your mouth, talk through full versus partial versus implant-retained, and take precise impressions to work from.
- Custom fabrication Your denture is built to your bite and shade so it sits comfortably and looks like it belongs.
- Fitting & adjustments We place the denture and fine-tune it across follow-up visits until it feels settled.
- Ongoing care Mouths change over time, so we check the fit at later visits and adjust as needed to keep things comfortable.
Serving Greenbrae
From Greenbrae, getting to the chair is mostly the freeway's job. Hop on Highway 101 north at the Sir Francis Drake interchange and stay on it into downtown San Rafael, then continue to 1099 D Street. We are on the second floor in Suite 206.
If your day already runs through MarinHealth Medical Center, the Bon Air Shopping Center, or anywhere along Bon Air Road, a denture consultation slots in neatly between errands, and you are only a few exits away. There is street parking along D Street and the surrounding blocks, plus several public lots a short walk away in downtown San Rafael.
What waits at the end of that short drive is one dentist who learns your history. Dr. Steve sees you at each visit and follows your denture from first impression through every adjustment, rather than handing you off to a rotating roster.
Why D Street Dental Group
Dr. Steve Truman
Dr. Steve earned his DDS from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry and served as a clinical instructor. Restorative work sits at the center of his practice. Every denture is planned and fit with care, and explained plainly so you know exactly what to expect at each step.
Cost & Membership
Denture cost comes down to full versus partial, the materials, and any extractions or prep work, so we hand you a clear, itemized estimate before treatment begins. No surprises.
We are out of network with the dental PPOs, but we still file your claim directly so your Greenbrae-area benefits apply, and out-of-network plans often cover a good portion of covered services. If you are uninsured, our in-house "D is for Dental" membership takes 20% off treatment, with flexible in-office payment plans. See membership plans →
Denture Questions
Where do Greenbrae patients go for dentures?
From Greenbrae, D Street Dental Group is a short drive up Highway 101 to 1099 D Street in downtown San Rafael. If your day runs through MarinHealth Medical Center or the Bon Air Shopping Center, hop on 101 north at the Sir Francis Drake interchange and we are only a few exits away. We see Greenbrae patients for both full and partial dentures.
What is the difference between full and partial dentures?
A full denture replaces every tooth in an arch when none remain. A partial denture fills one or more gaps and clasps to the healthy teeth you still have. Dr. Steve looks at how many teeth are missing and how the rest are doing, then talks through which fits your mouth at your consultation.
How much do dentures cost, and do you take my insurance?
Cost depends on full versus partial, the materials, and any extractions or prep work, so we give you an itemized estimate before anything starts. We are out of network with the dental PPOs but still file your claim directly, so your Greenbrae-area benefits apply. Out-of-network plans often cover a good portion of covered services, and our in-house membership takes 20 percent off treatment.
Can my denture be held in place by implants?
Yes. An implant-retained denture snaps onto a few dental implants for a steadier hold that does not slide while you eat or talk. It is a good step up if a lower denture keeps loosening or you are tired of adhesive. Ask about it at your visit and we will walk through whether it suits you.
