Three Ways Patients Pay

Most dental offices keep this vague. We won't. There are three ways patients pay at D Street Dental Group, and here's exactly what each one means for your out-of-pocket cost.

First, the part most offices bury until you call: D Street Dental Group is not in-network with any insurance plan. That is a deliberate choice, and for a lot of patients it works out better than it sounds. Here's why.

Where Your Insurance Fits

In-network, out-of-network, or no insurance at all, here is how each one works at D Street Dental Group, and how we handle your plan either way.

In-Network

We are not in-network with any dental plan. That is on purpose: network contracts cap what a dentist can spend per visit, and we would rather give you the time and the materials your care deserves.

Out-of-Network

Have a PPO? We file your claim directly and your plan still pays its out-of-network share, often a good portion of covered care. You keep the dentist you choose, and we do the paperwork.

Fee-for-Service

No insurance? You get clear, itemized pricing, and our in-house D is for Dental membership takes 20% off restorative & major work with no deductibles and no annual maximums.

How we work with your insurance

You do not have to change a thing. Bring your plan details to your first visit and we file your claims and bill your insurance on your behalf, the same way you are used to. You pay your portion at the visit, the same as you do now. Depending on your plan, the insurance payment then comes to us or directly to you. If your plan is one that pays you directly, we will set that up with you in advance so nothing is a surprise. If you have trusted this office with your family's care for years, that care carries right on, and we keep handling your insurance so you can focus on your teeth instead of the paperwork.

If You Have a PPO (We're Out-of-Network)

D Street Dental Group is out-of-network with all dental insurance plans. That sounds like a downside, so here's what it actually means for you: we still bill your PPO directly, and most PPO plans reimburse a meaningful share of out-of-network care, often a good portion of covered services depending on your plan. You get to see the dentist you trust instead of whoever a network list assigns you, and we handle the paperwork. Bring your plan details to your first visit and we'll walk you through your specific coverage. That holds for every major carrier, including Delta Dental, Cigna, MetLife, Aetna, Guardian, Anthem Blue Cross, and United Concordia, since we're out-of-network with all of them and bill each one the same way.

No Insurance? D is for Dental Membership

Our in-house membership plan is built for patients without insurance. One simple annual fee covers your routine preventive care and unlocks 20% off restorative & major work, from fillings to crowns to implants, with no deductibles, no claim forms, and no annual maximums to run out of. It's coverage designed around your teeth instead of an insurance company's bottom line.

Fee-for-Service & Transparent Pricing

For every patient, insured or not, our pricing is clear and itemized before treatment begins. You'll always know what something costs, and why, before you say yes. For larger treatment we offer flexible in-office payment plans, so cost is never the reason you put off care that matters.

Why We Chose to Stay Out-of-Network

Out-of-network isn't a gap, it's a choice. Insurance networks cap what a dentist can spend per patient, which quietly pushes practices toward shorter visits and higher volume. Staying out-of-network lets Dr. Steve give every patient the time, materials, and attention the work actually deserves, the old-school-trust part of how we practice. You get a dentist who answers to you, not to a network.
